The gorge  In 2024, Scott Derickson directed an Apple TV+ film, which was released in 2025. It's an American science fiction romantic action film, The Gorge. Yes, it's a mouthful. With that being said, I was recently browsing and chose to watch The Gorge. It is one of the best movies I've seen come out recently. Personally, I chose it because Miles Teller was in it, and he is one of my favorite actors. Other than that, it was a movie I had no idea what the storyline was. I am not one for trailers, since I like to be surprised. I am very glad I made the choice to watch.  If you'd like to watch the full trailer, here's a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5xgbJJxYI4 .  This action film has it all. It has romance, it has comedy, it has fear. Anything you want from a film, it has. I’ll do my best not to spoil. The film follows the intense and emotionally charged story of two elite assassins, Levi (played by Miles Teller) and Hazel (played by Anya Taylor-Joy), w...

Apple Headphones and an attractive man, what's more perfect? Pedro Pascal. Apple just released this new ad in April of 2025. All while Pedro Pascal's hit show, The Last of us season two is slowly coming out.               The ad opens with Pedro looking miserable, maybe leaving a sad breakfast or possibly a breakup. He leaves the restaurant for a sad and snowy town in silence. He takes out the Gen 4 AirPods, starting with a sad song. As he walks, the background characters slowly begin dancing to the beat, following along and slowly changing his surroundings to become an icy world. He gets interrupted by someone asking for directions. Pedro looks further down the street, with car sounds and city noises surrounding him. He sees a happy version of himself in a colorful, sunny world. The ad then fully pivots to the sunny and happy Pedro. He leaves a happy outing and puts in his headphones to an exciting and loud song, turning his world ...

The Information I Consume

` When it comes to news, my sources of information typically consist of seeing something on TikTok and then going over to the New York Times to verify if it's true. Either that or cbs news. Since I haven't been living at home, I don't consistently watch the news since it feels so doom and gloom lately. I try to keep up when it is all over my social media. However, since your asking when I do use news outlets, I like the new york times, cbs, and nbc. These are my main sources since they are the most mainstream, and my thought process is typically “the more respected writers”.      As AI gets better I do get a little worried about how some people believe it. As a younger person, I have the insight to know if something is AI, however, older generations have appeared to not be so good. So how might this affect our voting and overall systems of beliefs. Fake news has been prominent for a long time, whatever gets the clicks or worse, how far can you g...

Hello everyone. I am Emma. I am a dual-enrolled student at both Linn Bennton and Oregon State University. I am currently working towards a degree in climate science, I just want to make a difference in the world. I have taken well over half my credits at LBCC as a way of saving money, seeing as I pay for it myself. I love to be outside when its warm, whether it be a hike, sand volleyball, or just laying out doing arts and crafts.       Going into media and society, I want to learn about how the media affects our health, positive or negative. I also want to see how our society has changed over time with media. Really, all of it. Media is apart of my every waking moment at this point. Maybe I can find ways to change that.       Passion is a hard thing to narrow down. I have a few hobbies, one being jewlery making. It's my time to be quiet and listen to a podcast. Other than that I play volleyball, indoor and outdoor. I’ve been pl...
